Mosquito Bites Poem by Brendon Olsen

Mosquito Bites

Drought which rots juvenile roots Drought which has to follow suit Drought which birth winged foe

Buzzing zagging and zigging they Swatting at tiny stinging prey
Their larvae fed by under toe

While watery child
with dancing flow
Peering legions rise
Donning bloodthirst eyes
Nourishing meat
whence nettle grows

Stagnant and damp
My porch shelters their camps Breeding vile recourse and woe

Well I'll tell you
Soon I've been eaten
And quite nearly felt beaten
By the minute devils head to toe
Yet little I've done
to call an end to their fun
I've lost
or found hope in tiny plight
I don't know

Deep within a heart's black night
I know purpose is served
By each and every buzz that's heard
My mind shifts to the ebb and flow Those fish I eat and what a fond treat

For these pests would it not be so Relentless swarm impugned forlorn Birthed in hell way down below
