Mother Poem by Dawn Rodgers

Mother

Mother I forgive you
Because I know you were hurt too

My childhood was horrible
But, I guess you did the best you could do

I know that you love me
I'm thankful for all that you do

You mean the world to me

I pray things get easier for you

If I had one wish it would be to go back and do things over again

Have a normal childhood
A mother
A father
A picket fence
A dog
Just be a kid
But that will never happen
and it's really okay
My life's not that bad

Just a few skeletons in my closet

I believe in my heart one day
my gray sky will be blue...
