CRY NO MORE MOTHER LANKA
Wake up mother Lanka please do don weep,
Butchered are thy children even in their sleep;
Thy brood did err but now they are fine,
Let no aliens whip them for still they are thine.
Thy children did quarrel like Cain and Able,
The whole world knows it for it's not a fable;
To err is human and to forgive is divine,
Let no aliens treat us as the brood of some swine.
Once before too the aliens ravaged and let you die,
I was only a child and could do nothing but cry;
I am a man dear mother so let me help thee,
Rid the aliens who came from across the sea.
Once we did roam from south to north and west to east,
Now we eye each other with hatred like some wild beasts;
Once we greeted one another with open arms and clear hearts,
So why do we kill each other with bombs and shot gun blasts.
Pearl of the Indian Ocean once you were named,
Thy image is now tarnished and we are to be blamed;
Once we cared less for cast color or creed,
Why then do we kill each other with this bloody greed.
Oh! Children of Lanka do please stop and ponder,
Your fighting has destroyed Sri Lanka like thunder;
While you are fighting to tear each other asunder,
Your neighbor is at your door step waiting to plunder.
Children of Lanka do not please be blind,
Let sanity prevail at least now in your blessed mind;
Sri Lanka is yours dear sister and brother,
So let there be peace and unity with one another.
Children of Mother Lanka forsake your fighting forsake now,
To safeguard Mother Lanka do make a solemn vow;
Let not some aliens taunt us and put us to shame,
Unite as before and let Mother Lanka once more grow in fame.
