Mother Nature She Does As She Pleases Poem by Francis Duggan

Mother Nature She Does As She Pleases

Another huge earthquake in Indonesia at Nias at least a thousand dead
This time not followed by a Tsunamis and more uncertainty lay ahead
For poor people who have suffered far too much already in the most dangerous part of the Planet they live
Mother Nature she does as she pleases she takes back the lives she did give.

Mother Nature she does as she pleases the life that she gives she will take
And though she brings joy and laughter to many she also brings tears and heartbreak
At least she treats all people equal the Presidents and the Monarchs to her have to fall
She doesn't respect any leaders since she is the most powerful of all.

Mother Nature she does as she pleases she treats life and death as the same
The artists they sketch her great beauty the poets in words worship her name
The Earth we live on is her daughter and to her daughter's bosom we'll return one day
There's none greater than Mother Nature she gives life and she takes it away.

Mother Nature she does as she pleases and about that nothing we can do
She decides on the fate of the President and the Monarch they are mortals like me and like you
In Indonesia she again flexed her muscles and people from their crumbling houses fled
And then she grows calm and gentle as a sleeping baby and the living they bury their dead.
