Mother Sentiment Poem by narayana aghalaya

Mother Sentiment

a leopard cub was found in a shed nearby
can't wash our hands off and say bye bye
to save the cub, experts are in charge
barricades put as riff raff shouldn't barge
round the clock vigil is in place
as the cub is unsafe in many ways
late night the mother marched in, in stealth
to feed the child, mother's love has no dearth
in the wild, birth is in a litter
safety of the rest should cause jitters
trust the mother to have hidden the rest
the dangers in the wild she knows best
give her time to use the shed
there in peace hope her litter are fed
cubs have to grow under mom's care
to thrive in the wild how else can they dare?
we have hopes, the litter will survive
to grow as strong adults, rights can't be deprived

A month ago, at National Institute of Industrial Engg (NITIE) Mumbai, in an abandoned shed, close faculty houses, a solitary leopard cub was seen.
Forest officials took charge to protect the cub and to ensure the mother joins the cub, as it should.
The story has ended happily as the mother has left with the cubs back into the forest.
Leopards don't attack human beings, in general, unless they find themselves cornered.
Generally they catch smaller animals like dogs as their prey.
