Motherhood Poem by suhana lulu

Motherhood

Rating: 4.5

I like to wake up to see the waking sun,
But that old lazy habit and love for late night
won't let me to
and so I wake alarmed and panicked.
Though, I hate the hush rush of morning
It spares my morning turtle move
we run criss cross to finish those morning chores
then smile and long breath to wave two good byes.

I like my midday lazy walks
Around the corners of my silent home
I lean through the window
for a beautiful live breezy lookout
and looking for myself
I gaze my outdoors.
But just for a moment,
My crazy toddler
He makes me laugh run jump and mad
Around and around with him goes the afternoon

I like the afternoon nap
When the sun burns outside
Under the wobbling fan
And fluttering curtains,
But my big bored boy don't lets me
So he tweaks and pulls my hands
To make some magic out of left out papers
And broken crayons
To fill his room wall bright and colorful.

I like my house picture perfect
And my spouse appreciate it too or only that
like an old English farm house I wanted,
'm not perfect and my kids are scruffiest
But its happiness shared when the kids
Make it messier and merrier
Kids and their friends fill the evenings
whistling screaming and bustling.

Its hard to make three meals in three different ways
But its peaceful to see them full and calm.
I like the nights winding rituals
Except some daily vitamin supplements,
Few arguments, confessions, promises and bedtime stories
those tired little eyes will fall asleep
and little snores will be in air
some more lonely time for me, waiting my love to be home
then dinner, narrations, movie, whispers and then dreams.

‘m still an old fashioned village girl,
Imperfect daughter wife mother,
Living an urban motherhood.
Peace.
