Mothers And Fathers Asleep At The Wheel Poem by Teresa Dearing

Mothers And Fathers Asleep At The Wheel

Rating: 2.7

To those who have gone to fight....God bless
Our children are warm, secure in their beds,
Father and I, the news fills our heads,
We worry, wonder, rant, and cry,
What is the truth, where does it lie?
Father, our children now go to war,
The lies keep coming, how many more?
Did moral majority put all their trust,
Into a system no where near just?
No weapons of mass, hidden in this oil land,
But there we are with out any plan.
Mother and father as you weep and cry,
Please get involved, won't you try?
Not Saint nor Sinner, but mortal man,
Has brought this pain to our fair land.
This is what happens when big business rules,
It makes the U.S., look like ignorant fools.
Mothers and fathers the budget is lost,
For fighting and dying, great is the cost.
The past forgotten, our mistakes we embrace,
As we pray for lives this war has erased.
Wake up, arise, don't sleep at the wheel,
The crash we face is very, very real.
Get involved, wake up, don't loose our Rome,
For the sake of our children, country, and home.
