Motion. Poem by Sam Cottle

Motion.

Of linear and angular momentum,
And day by day
Ceaseless turning: motion.
And coherence and decoherence,
And all the world spoiled,
Fresh to be spoiled again -
And again and again forever,
As good as forever;
And light and magnetism
And heat and cold;
The coldness of the sky;
The fitful waking
And restless sleeping;
And it goes on and on;
And the beating heart,
And the nerves: motion.
The ligaments and muscles,
And cartilage and tendons,
And blood and bone,
And the changing density of bone,
And it goes on and on forever.
The gentle electricity felt
Under the skin,
The idle sky,
And it goes on and on
Forever.
