The Bollard. Poem by Sam Cottle

The Bollard.

Consider:
The Bollard.
Those little
Policemen
We make out of concrete.
How integrated they are, and how integral
Supporting somehow
In their own small way
The fabric of our urban society.
Perhaps they're even a rural bollard.
Think of it.
Looking after us pedestrians
By controlling those rats!
Cyclists.
