Mountain Peaks Poem by Jeff Fleischer

Mountain Peaks

Rating: 5.0

From my window,
I look upon the snowcapped mountain peaks.
The air is crisp and clean.
The sky is clear blue.
Buzzards fly overhead.
They swoop down upon the dead flesh of deer.
The pond is frozen with ice.
Fish swim below.
Their breathing causes ripples in the water.
The black bear is asleep in his cave,
Dreaming of the fish in his mouth.
The elk's horns protrude from behind a redwood tree.
Beavers gnaw at its wood.
How quickly they build their dams.
