Mountain Retreat - Poem by Marilyn Lott
It was all that we had dreamed of
As we climbed the rugged hills
Peacefulness settled over us
As the beauty was revealed
A handsome cowboy entertained
With music from his guitar
And the food was so delicious
It deserved an enormous star
The view was unbelievable
Set against a lake
The people were so friendly
Nothing there was at all fake
Yes, this is country living
It just can not be beat
I know that I’m come back again
It was really quite a treat
The home was oh, so beautiful
A friendly dog to boot
The time went by way too fast
And then we had to scoot!
