Mouse Bed Poem by C Richard Miles

Mouse Bed

O, to curl up in a mouse-bed
In cotton wool, shavings and fluff
All cosseted, comfy and cosy
With a thistledown pillow, so soft
That the demons of day would escape me
And fly on black wings, far away
And let me sleep sound till the morning
With nothing but respite and rest
In a haven of softness and comfort
Cocooned all so snugly and warm
So let me curl up in a mouse-bed
Like a ball in a bundle of bliss.
