Moving On Poem by Paul Burt

Moving On

Life can throw the screws at you when you least expect it.
At times it can be crushing, to the point where you want to scream!
crawl in a corner and die, yeah life is a b***h and everyone knows it!
Should you let it keep on beating you down? No why should you let it beat you down!
get knocked down is one thing but the choice is always yours when it comes to getting back up
Some get back up and fall back in line with the everyday drones you see in the street
While others think outside the box and do things different to keep from making the same mistake
Second chances are rare in life to come by so when that chance comes don't let it slip
size it don't matter how big or small that chance is
It can either change the course of your life
It can be reconcile a way to make amends
It can be a fresh start to your life
Either way you slice it or what hand you are dealt with
it's a way of moving on.
