Much To The Dismay Of Time. Poem by RIC BASTASA

Much To The Dismay Of Time.

in that party
we danced the waltz
chacha and the tango
not to miss that
wild boogie and swing

chita my cousin is fat
and heavy, with one front
tooth missing at her
age of 60

the criminal tango was
good but by then she was
panting and chasing for
breaths

i still manage to dance
with another comical cousin
much to the delight of
those who think they cannot
sing and dance

they sit there and giggling
they as usual are mere watchers
of the dance of life
much to the dismay of time.
