Mud Is Not Your Friend Poem by Richard Jarboe

Mud Is Not Your Friend

Mud is not your friend,
It can slow you down,
'Cause in the end,
We're just part of the ground.

Ancestors,
Part of the soil,
Where mud ain't your friend,
Part of the oil.

It brings things to an end,
And when the crop fails,
You're gonna need a friend.

Things get a little muddy,
Mud loves to share
Mud comes from the rain,
Rain comes from the air.
