Muddy Cloudy Outdoors - Painting Poem by Quinn Graw

Muddy Cloudy Outdoors - Painting

Oct.8th,2020

On a cold drab October afternoon
the grey sky beckons rain
onto the surging mountain stream
usually a place for fishing
rising water levels keep one wishing.
Wet and cold
the sunset peaks out over the mountains.
the orange tinge with the purple flowers
wow one who stands alone in this wilderness
searching for prey
in the water, on the land and in the air
but today the muddy cloudy outdoors
tinged by the peeking of an oncoming sunset
dominate the scenery stare
showing a bleakness not of desolation
as the surging stream overflows
roaring above the wildlife chit chat.
Keep dry in this weather
keep quiet as the prey may lurk
as your main hunting work.
Adapt to the conditions
there lies muddy, cloudy outdoors
challenging your camouflage conditions.
Isolated but not alone
standing up in the dreary weather
that October weather brings to the baseball leather
isolating and resonating with the barest of tethers.
