Mum Poem by Beverley Warren

Mum

You were there at the beginning,
And will be there till the end,
Your unconditional love,
To your children you send,
Never judgemental you have taught us well,
We are ever so grateful,
She is an angel my pal,

I owe you recognition,
For the things you have done,
A life time commitment no matter what comes,
Your life as I know it,
Has been caring for others,
You're a special kind of lady,
And a fantastic mother,

She's a whizz at the crosswords,
For many have shared,
If you have a hour or two just remember be prepared,
You will get a cup of tea and a pen in one hand,
The dictionary on the table already to be scanned,

She calls to her birds her ritual each day,
They come to her garden where the bread she has laid,
The fatest sparrows you have ever seen,
Dancing round the bird bath they are ever so preened,

She's a quiet lady with many a friend,
She's loyal and trustworthy,
My story I have penned,
I thankyou most for the person you are,
You will always shine like the bright night stars.
