Music-Pop Shop 1977 Poem by Mary Mc Creath

Music-Pop Shop 1977

POP

TV black, white,
noise vibrating,
drums beat,
pulse beat,
heart beat,

Voices emanating,
sound.
Loud sound,
sad sound,
same sound,
drums beat,
pulse beat,
heart beat.

Soft voice,
silk voice,
lonely, searching.
Drums beat,
pulse beat,
heart beat.

Sound that's longing,
lonely
unsure,
another round.
Drums beat,
pulse beat,
heart beat.

Swaying softly,
swaying frames,
longing,
unsure.
Drums beat,
pulse beat,
heart beat.

Hi.. This made me smile... I used to flit around the telly like a disco diva with wobbly legs at this time... Competing moves with my sister... I never even realised the day we had a brand new coloured telly..just sat and watched it to my family's amusement.. Great write of the anticipation felt at that time.. Karen
