Music Tells A Story Poem by Sheena Blackhall

Music Tells A Story

Piano staccato a rapper jerks like a puppet
Busker pipes on the streets to buy a Ferarri
Contralto milks a cow while singing the blues
Carpenter works up a sweat with Country and Western
The lunatic sways to the voice of Pavarotti
An artist paints with verve to a Mazurka
The surgeon saws a rib, hums Lady Gaga
The traffic policeman signals, humsthe Beatles
The deck hand swabs the deck to Dixieland
A mother wrings a chicken's neck to Brahms
Pickpocket at the races dips to Reggae
The bingo caller cooks his tea to jazz
Orpheus, stick in the mud, fingers his lyre
One connoisseur of cheeseburgers sings pop
