Muted Voice Poem by Subashini Ravichandran

Muted Voice

The familiar sound wakes me up,

I rise without giving another thought,

running through the daily errands,

struggling to keep up with time

Racing along with the world,

pouncing to catch those ladders,

fumbling down and falling deep

yet striving each day to live up.

Thinking eternally to unwind out of all,

to move out of the self woven web,

ducking away from the unfair arrows

And hiding from the unjust shadows

In all the chaos to get out of the maze,

the hazy screens, the pushes and pulls

The tiny inner voice within, yet again

fails to make her side of the story heard
