My Belief Is Poem by Randy McClave

My Belief Is

My belief is when you carry a Bible
You also carry an Angel on your shoulder,
Telling you to help and preach and to love even a rival
Over and over.
You follow the way as Jesus did teach,
Peace and love and forgiveness you will preach.

When you carry a rifle or a handgun
I believe a Devil is sitting on your shoulder,
Telling you never to listen or backdown or to run
Telling you to hate, and kill over and over.
With a gun the devil tells you what to believe,
He tells you to hate and to kill as he does deceive.

I believe that when we all die
God will judge us each one and all,
He will remember our every hate and grudge and lie
Because, of it he has already heard and also saw.
I believe when we walk that very last path,
We will with it with peace and love, or maybe wrath.

My belief is that God is our lord and our creator
He created us all from dirt and bone,
He created workers and followers and not a dictator.
In our nostrils by him all life was blown.
I believe that Jesus is our savior and Lord,
He gave us peace and love, and not the sword.
