My Bird Poem by Rishabh Kashyap

My Bird

I lay awake
with open eyes
the sleep betrayed
my heart cried

And far away
a bird flew
with beautiful wings
red and blue

I had her
before few days
when she sang
in my cage

her sparkling eyes
her plush mould
her magical tail
her crown gold

but sorrows untold
built my remorse
my love murmured
let her go

her flight divine
her happy gaze
her wings grew
her speed amazed

and I stayed
alone with tears
a happy moment
filled with fears

she flew on
through rainy days
through moonless nights
through skies ablaze

At my window
I looked ahead
days and nights
clocks seemed dead

she came back
flying with grace
her angelic voice
her summer face

as I lay
with closed eyes
in worlds beyond
the blue skies.
