My Blessing Poem by Casey Gochnour

My Blessing

They lie awake in bed, cold and alone,
Afraid of the darkness, afraid of unknown.
Not a hint of love to push them on,
Lying there sleepless until the break of dawn.

Inspiration is needed for the soul to fight,
You, my dear, are the light to my night.
The moon in the sky to show me through dark,
Ever since our very first spark.

You’ve shown me love in every which way,
Given to me in bad and good times; night and day.
You are what I had always needed all along,
Your being gives meaning to every love song.

I’ve never had a gift as great as you,
Of love, such perfect love so true.
