My Body, My Choice Poem by Randy McClave

My Body, My Choice

A woman has full control of her body
She always have and she always will,
Though later in years it might become a bit shoddy
So, then she might need a shot or a pill.
The problem is that she wants full control over another life
That she had created because she lost control,
Now she'll create much more of a strife
Because, now involved is another soul.
That new life is not responsible for her poor decisions
Because, she knew the ways to control life from forming,
Not including pills or contraceptives or incisions
But, by stopping the act that she was performing.
A new life has now been created
All because she forgot or ignored a procedure,
Now she is fated
Because, she never listened to her parents of pastor or teacher.
An innocent life should not ever be blamed
That new life...is a creation that will occur,
Life has now announced and has also claimed
That there's a new body growing inside of her.
