My Breath Poem by Airda Jones

My Breath

The weight and the burden
Buries me deep under
I feel as if I can't be saved
And I'm left to wonder

If everyone has forgotten
Or ignored me in this heap
Left to pull myself out
But I cannot reach...

Then his hand takes mine
Reassuring me with his hold
That he has not forgotten
And left me out ot the cold

And with each moment
He lifts me up out of the mess
Freeing me bit by bit
Until I'm within his caring caress

There I am safe to be
A complete person, a whole
And have no fear of being burned
But only buried in his soul.
