My Brother - Poem by kay pennington
It’s been a year already
Time has passed so fast
It seems like yesterday
We were laughing about the past
I can’t say my tears are unheard
Yet I try to get through the days
Your big smile and kind words
“I’m always here for you”,
You always would say.
Even though your life was short
I’m thankful for the days
God let you be with me
Before he took you away.
You are so dear to me, my brother
And I weep because you’re not here
But sadness is still here for me
I can’t believe it’s been a year.
