My Brother In The Diaspora (Part 1) Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

My Brother In The Diaspora (Part 1)

Like the knife on butter
Your cries sear my emotion
The cry of a suckling
Denied its black mother's milk
Is most pitiful
To our mother Africa
The cry of a stolen child
Hunts the mother's sanity
Like my brother in the diaspora.
