My Cost Poem by Gary Porter

My Cost

"My cost"

I am floating under the waves of the sea
The sun is shinning through but it can not see me

Why within the oceans heart do I still feel unnoticed, untouched, invisible.
As if I am walking down a busy west end street blended in with the crowds, blended in like the a painter would blend the sand to the sea and the sea to the sand.

With outstretched arms i plead for the sun to find me
As I float weightless under the control of the sea

I know now it is not the sun that does not notice me, it is me who does not comprehend the sun and its importance to me. Did i do the same to you? Did I allow you to wonder on by, like the sun which is now lost in the flames of the sky.

Thats why I am unnoticed as now you are lost
My sun that once guided me has gone and that is my cost.
