My Culinary Life - Poem by Cheryl Tutaan
I want to bake something,
A scrumptious one, because I feel so upset;
Something sweet may do,
To ease the burden stuck in my head.
First, melt the butter in a pan
To make it unique, quiet some time;
Glaze it with sugar, to wake up the sleeping butterflies.
Add a pinch of salt to stabilize the taste,
That's my point, to make life even and equal.
Sometimes, I couldn't resist,
Turned into binge eating because of life's stress!
I want that bite of a sinful cake and colorful macaroons,
For me to satisfy my munchies suffering.
Sprinkling of cinnamon ground
Adds aroma to your coffee;
Chillin tequila and bittersweet champagne.
Have you ever heard about sour cream pancake?
Sometimes life is weird, full of surprises!
I still remember the taste of cream puffed breads,
It bursts inside my mouth, adds grin to my face.
A slice of gruyere cheese; deep feelings preserved for a decade.
Reminiscing the old days, mingled with old friends,
Having a tea party, tossing a sippy cup.
Even you face different mazes in this world,
Savoring the flavors of your daily adventures in life!
Mixing it thoroughly, putting a balance, is it a need or want?
Being quiet, a loner, happy or mad;
That is normal, because you're only human.
Spreading an icing on top, or filling a luscious blueberry cheesecake,
You will be needing spatula, to flatten the crumpled flaws of yours;
When life gets sour, sweeten it with gratitude lemon smudge.
Still don't forget the essence of a healthy lifestyle.
Did I forget something?
But don't even know what am I cooking?
Mixing of butter, be thankful and contented;
Listen to verses to overcome bitterness.
Preheating the oven will banish the cold chill,
Hhmm...I can now smell the positve mood around my kitchen;
The sound of crispylicious croissant on top of sponge;
As you inhale with all confidence and exhaling all the doubts.
Always keep this in heart and mind,
Combining all the ingredients for you to think of loving yourself;
Putting a smile on your face while you're cooking heartily
Is truly the secret of a mouthwatering flavors of life!
