My Dad Poem by Marilyn Lott

My Dad

Rating: 5.0

What a hardworking guy he was
My dad, is who I mean
He’s gone now, you know
Some things seem like a dream

But as I go through the pictures
That were taken years ago
So many memories surface
And I just kinda let them flow

Watching him on his tractor
Out in the golden wheat fields
Oh how he loved being a farmer
Enjoyed what those crops could yield

So as I sort through old photos
So many in black and white
I just settle back in my chair
Thinking about how life takes flight

The years go by so quickly
But I don’t want to feel sad
For some day we’ll all be together
For now I’ll enjoy pictures of my dad!
