My Dark Side Poem by Alfred Ramos

My Dark Side

Rating: 5.0

Like deaths co-conspirator on some hazy afternoon
Evil awaits darkness to bloom
Receding into a silence of doom
A disturbing echo too near to death
With a memory not far from the surface
Itching to impose its last breath
What a shrewd appraisal beckons our call
As if things will play themselves out before the fall
What ulterior motive can show an interior sin
With borrowed sorrow that no one can imagine
In an eerie sense of a magical conclusion
The sun turns to ebony without an illusion
Pains archrival hastens to expose its uniqueness
Would it be pretentious to show our weakness
Evil handcuffs pity with a ball and chain
Thrown into a dungeon of despair by a black hurricane
With fearless claws it drags you down
Flashing a smirk that could be mistaken for a frown
The brutality of common sense escapes like a convict
An agent of delirium that no one can restrict
Our coffins are the same length and width
The prince of darkness no longer a myth
A delusional sense is hurdled down a frozen path
As if parallel lives are sunk into its wrath
A life set on fire for the purpose of blame
Then there are only losers in this game
