My Deadly Rose Poem by Tinus Erasmus

My Deadly Rose

A flower i have thrown
Rests on the ground all on its own
My heart i have lost
Dreaming of what it has cost

White as snow
My rose so pure
Withers away all to slow
The pain i endure
Saddens my only sorrow

Day by day
I see her face
Night after night
I dream of a place
Tears have dried
Feelings have subside

Letting her go
I decided
To lift my head
And look ahead.
