My Dog Poem by Herbert Nehrlich

My Dog

Rating: 3.8

'You seem to have, '
I said to her, sincerely,
'Chinese-like eyes
when you are fretting,
like in pursuit of food,
in hopes of being scratched
or just to be allowed to watch
your favourite show on the TV'.

It was a combination of
a hesitation issue twinkle
and pupillary sanpaku.

She knows all that, of course
and, it is likely that I've been
quite tightly wrapped around
her paws by Mesmer's eyes.
