Nobody to tell my story to
No one to regale,
Alone I am to groan and bemoan…
But to you I'll tell my tale.
The sun was up-
But I wasn't yet-
There was no pull for me,
I had snored and dreamt to my heart's content-
I loved so my privacy.
But then I awoke-most suddenly-
And knew what I had to do,
Put my feet on the floor as I tried to do more-
But I sagged back to my bed-
Retreating into a salubrious snore.
My dreams were that I was now at peace
On some rocky and faraway shore,
No longer did I need to deal with life's strife
As I strode thru my dreams' open door.
I peered from a pinnacled reef
as I felt the winds lick at me:
"Ah! This was the life. No more storms near nor strife."
No more heartaches nor grief I must flee."
I woke up again, now revived and refreshed-
No longer anguished, not a whit,
I just wish I could recall all the flavors of that dream-
But I can't, I forget all the vagaries in it.
I anxiously await to revisit my next dream
To view the place where I was renewed,
My life till then will seek "round the bend"-
That "bend" my dreams had taken me to.
