My Everything Poem by Sammantha Larsen

My Everything

Rating: 4.9

Laughs,
Cries,
Smiles,
and sighs,
We've been through it all.

Many seasons,
Spring,
Summer,
Winter,
and Fall.

You've always been there for me,
and I've always been there for you,
Good times,
and bad times,
But why won't you tell me the truth?

Love,
Despair,
Passion,
and affairs,
Though you say you regret it,
why are you never there?

Why did you leave me,
an emotional mess,
that struggles with depression,
sadness, and distress?

Why do you pretend it's okay,
when it never really is,
you've apologized over and over again,
but it doesn't fulfill my wish.

As hard as I try,
I cannot forget the look you had in your eyes,
the day you asked me to be your wife.

Everything we've said,
stays with me in my head.

Everything we've done,
replays as a film that still continues to run.

Despite the promises you've broken,
the lies you've told,
the pain you've caused me,
I cannot help but behold.

At the man who is,
my life,
my love,
my heart,
my everything.

A well articulated and nicely penned poem from the inner recesses of the heart. A case of distress, betrayal, pain, ...in the bliss of love. A lovely piece indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
