My Eyes Are Dim. Poem by winifred thorpe

My Eyes Are Dim.

My eyes are dim,
I cannot see the light,
each day, just looks like the night,
I feel my way around the room,
and touch the things I love so much.

The clock my mother gave me,
when she lay dying, and she was near the end,
the perfume, I smell so lovely given by a friend.

My silver brooch and comb,
I feel them there,
a necklace, left from Bill mt dearest dear,
the sound of water running I can hear.

the sound of footsteps, it can be know other,
then my love, I feel him near,
I hear him call,

The nicest treasure of them all.
