My Final Heaven Poem by Wynand Johannes Louw

My Final Heaven

Is this the curse I am left with
once I have finally found
my destiny and company of valour?
Is this the fate that we have to share,
now that I have finally found
my gift in fellowship and love?
Can anyone bear this load
of knowing in your heart and soul
that they will not make it?
Of knowing that things will not be the same
as they were tomorrow?
Give me the ocean and the steps toward,
and the courage to walk right in,
for I have no escape left except this final move.
Hand me to the breeze of freedom,
and the waves of deliverance,
as it will embrace me with love
and take away this weight.
