My first kiss is to Mother Earth
For carrying me and my mother
Who carried me for ten long
Gruelling months in her womb
Kiss! Reverence! Pranam! Prostrations!
Earth aptly called mother
For patiently carrying me, my mom
All brethren and sisters and fellow beings
Flora and fauna, the seething oceans
All that in nature with much patience
Earth! your journey is grand
High beyond Himalayas, skies
Into the sprawling heavens
You kind enough carry me in my journey
smaller than the atom in comparison
Your billions of years versus less than
A Billion year of mine in life time
All the more reason to kiss
In reverence, prostrate in obeisance
Day after day till I exist and travel on you
The only planet to inhabit living beings
As far as science knows, as far as I know
It's my blessing to be here thanks
My blue marble, revered I remain
Sing your praise, kiss with reverence, salute!
