My Flower- The Modern World Poem by Lerryn Warren

My Flower- The Modern World

Rating: 4.5

The beauty of a simple flower,
always sweet and never sour

Flying bugs with fluttering wings,
listen as the hummingbird sings

Flowing rivers and flat calm lakes,
tremble as the monster wakes

Digging holes and cutting trees,
killing rabbits and squashing bees.

So all I ask with all my heart,
is for my flower to not depart

I truly love your poem I've written a similar poem like this that I'm going to upload. Modern world truly is so much like an awakening monster destroying everything around it. I think its simplicity and succinctness are what make it so beautiful. Perhaps you'd like my poem ' The Flower of Pain '. Cheers.
