My Friend - Poem by Kathryn Brookins
I know how time can rock your world,
make time seem like your stuck in a swirl.
just stop my friend, and look around,
let yourself be still, and be bound..
bound and determined to set the records straight,
its right there, your new life gate.
walk through it and make your changes in need.
set your mind to planting your new seed.
Life is what me make it, no more or less,
we all have to pass or fail, lifes little tests.
But that does not make or break us,
there is no need for upset and fuss.
Take this time to think things over,
there is no need to glance over your shoulder...
you are not being judged, and even if you are,
no one dictates your life, in your life, you are the star.
So hold your head up, and keep going straight,
I promise, you are not too late...
You don't have to stress out and loose your head...
just make your valuable changes instead..
sometimes we all have to do what we do not care for,
and before too long, we are free to walk through the other door.
The door we wait so long for.
Where things start to fall into place...
and we are no longer trying to keep up in a race...
but can take our time, at our own pace..
it only takes patients and time...
You with yours, and me with mine.
We will walk this together, hand and hand...
for I can carry you in moments you do not understand..
But hold your head up my friend...
you are not alone...
I am here, and I will help carry your load.
