My Gaze Is On Many Poem by Naveed Akram

My Gaze Is On Many

I returned the gaze to yesterday, it was light,
It was darkness, and it was truth in totality.
My dealer is considering my soul and all it entails,
Rich souls experience a light too encompassing,
Richer men are concerts of music, while the poor men
Are subject to winds, to offerings from nature.

I returned gaze after gaze, the maze appeared of faces,
My custom was older than the sun and sea, it concerned me
With the issues of glory and queens and kings, all the people
Of the molecules and atoms.
My today is a day of wonder, I consider it the day, and all it pertains,
It contains glory of my soul, a neglected being,
But thirsty for the wisdom offered by teachers in the night.

Add and subtract like the day and night, force the retinues
To avoid a cataclysm, weigh then these men and call them
Either day or night, but always call them by the light and darkness.
