My God Poem by chris schwartz

My God

Rating: 5.0

You told me to believe
In a God that wouldn't leave me
But I cried out to Him
Loudly
As the pain came
And Went.
You kept preaching to me
That he would save me
But when the time came
He didn't hear the tears
Of a young heart
He hasn't heard them yet.
And you tell me
I should believe

In the promise of a man
That's never been there once
Has never saved me
From the same God Damned.
You tell me to humble myself
And pray
To something that's never
Been
Answered..
Well, I feel like that's just
A wasted Halleujah.
And the scorn that I am feeling now
Lights the candle
Of who I am
They couldn't strip the crown from you
But you were just worshipped because you
Were born with jewels
We all wish we had.
Suffer the same damned
Halleujah.
Just a different time
And a different space,
On the ruler of time
They are the same.
Curse me, but I don't believe
That one God
Rules all of these.
If you did
You
Would have taken mercy
On meI
When I cried out.
Life simmers in a pot
Until it boils
Its flavors unrecognized
Until long after
The fire burns out
And is re-lit
By another man.
The depth of its flavors
And the scope of is journey
Keeps discovering itself
In its yearning
In the hope it can find new
In this wonderland.
I wish you much peace,
In this forever Land..
