My God, Where Are You? Poem by Antero K. Caña Jr.

My God, Where Are You?

In this thorny road I travel
Alone, without a guardian angel
Cautious am I in every step I make
In the end, it always spells mistake.

Tears all drained, sobs refrained
Crawled my way after a fall
Eased my pain, in time I store
Told myself to cry no more!

But when hope beats despair
They say, pain is less to bear
But trust in Faith is best
For God will do the rest!

But where is my God when I was down and out?
The God I knew whose heart is stout
Who'll ease my pain, in time I store
So that in the end, I'll cry no more.

Trust in Faith is best, I was told
I kept on waiting ‘til I get old
The God I knew who'll give His best
But nothing came ‘til I was laid to rest.

What kind of world one is to live
Good ones you meet come and leave
All is left in me, I have to give
Hope in these clouds I see
The God I know is there for me.
