My Prayer Poem by Antero K. Caña Jr.

My Prayer

I look up to the sky
Try to search for my Lord up high
Knees bent I shout, dear God, see me cry
Come to me, hear my plea
I am lost, guide my way
In my heart, my Lord, please stay
Drive my fears away…
So that I may continue
To walk an extra mile
And enjoy life in you with a smile.

But one day, my God you turn your back on me
Dare to ask: why in troubles still I am not free
Lost my way, my God, plenty are we
But why, others in sin, happy are they?

Still to you I kneel and pray
‘Though in my belief, you left me
My God, in your spirit fill me
‘Til you take my breath away.

As I close my eyes tonight to rest
You’re still my God whom I love the best
Though at times I know not your wisdom
Forgive me, ‘til my time to see you will come
And hear you who’ll say: Thy will be done!

A solid effort here, with sterling results...I Like the unique variable rhyme scheme you employ...As well as the storyline~FjR~
