My God's manifold blessings,
Are too numerous to count:
Air, water, fire, clay,
Heart, soul, brain, and energy,
Mountains, woods, rivers, lakes, and seas,
Sunlight, moonlight, and starlight,
Alternating seasons:
Spring, summer, autumn, and winter;
Days and nights that chase each other;
His wonderful manifestation all-in-one short;
That's where I live,
And there I express my gratitude to Him.
To desire even more than that,
And in reply to His question:
Are you now satisfied by my bounties?
When you say: Can you give me more?
That is the unawareness at its worst;
That is the worst ingratitude and thanklessness;
To share God's bounties with others,
Is to thank God for his blessings in the earnest;
The question is now can I be so generous?
