My Heart Has Been Captured Poem by Patti Masterman

My Heart Has Been Captured

My heart has been captured;
It's beating it's wings
Against the bars of your presence-
And refusing to sing.

The nearness of you
Stops all singing, all breath;
It just wants to breathe you-
Live in you, till death.

My heart has been captured,
Too far from it’s tree.
It's no use now; it doesn't
Even care about free.
