My Heart Is A Novice Poem by Rohit Ullal Rao

My Heart Is A Novice

Some feel more deeply
Than others, I'm afraid
But they meekly
Keep their feelings
In the shade.

And so, I hide
My many mistakes
Deep inside
My heart that aches.

But as I often find
My heart doesn't stay
It is inclined
To fly away.

What can I do
For my heart is not here
But if you knew
Would you stay, my dear.

It will be back soon
Of that, I'm sure
Maybe, on a lazy afternoon
A little more mature.

But I can't promise
It won't leave again
My heart is a novice
Innocent in the ways of men.

So wait for my heart
Who will soon return
And hope it won't depart
And your feelings spurn.

The heart of men and women
Being more or less the same
What is the difference then
Who knows and who can claim.
