My Heart Panteth Poem by Okunola Peace

My Heart Panteth

The time when life seems vast,
In days young and night nigh,
My heart pants with life
To explore the heaven and earth.

In days of youth and allure
When mother sings and father adores,
My heart panteth for the time to come
When I shall kiss my infant's brow.

For the life amiss, life gone
When youthful pleasures entice
And visions buried for future to come
When age speaks and time run wild.

For future unseen and what lay ahead,
My heart panteth for the love shown,
And friendship made in love, in hurt
And distress that born a man.

For days to come; the arrival
Of the father, the maker of flesh,
When the saints shall be crowned,
Delivered from the world of sin and death.
