My Hunter Poem by Victoria Gauci

My Hunter

I look there,
Through the trees,
I eye him,
He is hunting me,

I hide myself,
Watching him,
I spy the shape of his jaw,
My site is set,
To devour him,
Powerful and raw,

There in the nakedness
Of nature,
I am illuminated and bare,
He has seized sight of me,
Captures me,
Carries me to his lair,

Although I am the prey
Instantly thus caught,
He dares covet the look of me,
Not a trophy too distraught,

To lay lust upon,
His way instead,
I give way beneath the riches,
My hunter sweeps me in his arms,
Then shoots me with his kisses.
