My Immortal Poem by Kelli D. Williams

My Immortal

Rating: 5.0

I remember standing there
In front of your grave
Tears falling from my eyes

But it didn’t feel real
It felt like you were still here
Standing by me
Your hand in mine
Everything was fine
But I knew you were gone

So why did it feel like you were here
Holding me in your arms
Whispering in my ear ‘I love you’

Was I remembering old memories?
Was I remember the past?
Or were you somehow still here
In my heart
In my soul

And it was then I realized
That even though you were gone
You would always be alive
In all the memories I shared with you
In the heart that loved you
And in the soul that you made whole again

I promise to always remember our time together
I promise to always remember the things you did
And said
You will always be alive in me
You will always be my immortal.
